Afternoon Delight flyer for The Caldron, at 853 Natoma Street in SoMa San Francisco. A gay sex club which opened in 1980 and closed in 1984. It was called "the epitome of the uninhibited, abandoned, 'sleazy' sex club." Located in a converted warehouse, the site was unabashedly a place where men went to have sex. Patrons were required to be naked except for footwear; a clothes check was provided. Illustration by Allen "A JAY" Shapiro, a prominent gay illustrator and cartoonist of the 1960s, 70s and 80s. He was a successor to Tom of Finland's iconic style and his work featured gay erotic situations Measures 5.5" x 8.5"
