The Caldron, at 853 Natoma Street, San Francisco was a gay sex club which opened in 1980 and closed in 1984. It was called "the epitome of the uninhibited, abandoned, 'sleazy' sex club." Located in a converted warehouse. Patrons were required to be naked except for footwear; a clothes check was provided. Illustration by Allen "A JAY" Shapiro, a prominent gay illustrator and cartoonist of the 1960s, 70s and 80s. He was a successor to Tom of Finland's iconic style. Measures 19" x 24"
