Original poster for classical Indian maestro Ali Akbar Khan live at Mt Tamalpais State Park in June 1971, the same year he played with Ravi Shankar at George Harrison’s Concert for Bangladesh at Madison Square Garden. This was a concert in support of creating a National Recreation Area in the Golden Gate Headlands with Marin Symphony Orchestra, Denny Zeitlin Trio and Marin Youth Orchestra. In 1968, Khan moved the Ali Akbar College of Music to Marin County where he maintained a regular teaching schedule of 6 classes a week, 9 months of the year for the next 40 years.
