Alphonse Mucha – Job Calendar November. Offset lithograph Measures 15.5″ x 29″. Alphonse Mucha was a prolific painter and Art Nouveau artist of Moravian descent. In 1896 Mucha created an ad for ‘JOB’, the Joseph Bardou Company, manufacturers of cigarette papers. Featuring a voluptuous long-haired woman who held a cigarette. This image drew its inspiration from “Sibyls” which was drawn by Michelangelo in the Sistine Chapel. Mucha had the prominent female character placed against Job monograms as her background. Mucha‘s printer, F. Champenois used his recognizable images to publish an annual calendar. This image was used for November 1913,1919,1930,1941,1969,1975 and can be used for 2025.
