Emigre #9 4AD

About this product

Emigre #9 4AD. Berkeley, CA: Emigre Graphics, 1988. This ninth installment of Rudy Vanderlans’ highly influential quarterly contemporary graphic design and typography survey “Emigre” is devoted to output of London-based record label 4AD, and its graphic designers 23 Envelope collaborators Vaughan Oliver and Ralph Grierson (soon to become v23 with Grierson’s departure). It features interviews with label founder Ivo Watts-Russell, Oliver and Grierson, along with articles on The Cocteau Twins and Throwing Muses, quotes from numerous 4AD artists, and most significantly an eight page design insert produced by 23 Envelope especially for this issue. An internally bright example of this most uncommon, highly prized v23 / 4AD in mint condition. 32 pages, 11.5 x 17.
