I Am Not Gay! Button. Made in 1978 to poke fun at The Briggs Initiative a failed California ballot measure that would have banned lesbian and gay people and supporters of lesbian and gay rights from teaching public schools. Openly gay San Francisco politician Harvey Milk and Sally Miller Gearhart, as well as many other LGBT activists of the time were instrumental in fighting the measure. Measures 1.75 x 2.75 inches
