Robert Crumb “Hinckle Free at Last” Advertising Poster (San Francisco Examiner, 1985). An unusual Crumb piece: a cardboard poster that slots into a newspaper rack. A humorous critique of excessive police force. San Francisco columnist Warren Hinckle and his dog are being hauled away by three tough-looking cops in this rarely-seen two-color advertising poster (the image itself appears in The Complete Crumb Comics #16). Crumb’s illustration has an approximate image area of 12.5″ x 10″; the poster measures 21″ x 13.75″, and is in Excellent condition, with light toning.
