About this product

Robert Mapplethrope and Norman Parkinson for Rose’s Lime Juice Ad, 1987. As the tagline for Roses was The Uncommon Denominator, the idea of the campaign was coupling a traditional, established artist with a young, avant-garde figure. Norman Parkinson, grand old man of the photographic arts spent decades photographing both British royalty and the royalty of fashion. His mate in this ad was Robert Mapplethorpe, careerist hero of the gay demimonde who among many other things, was famous for rendering homosexual S&M images in exquisite, almost classical fashion. Measures 8.5 x 11″
