1963 TRIM STUDIO QUARTERLY Issue No. #8 (from the series of 8) dedicated to the ART DRAWINGS and sketches of SPARTACUS. A 74 page issue of this hard to find beefcake art digest. Trim was a more sophisticated vintage gay muscle magazine that hid the fact is was geared for homosexual men. Packed with stylized illustrations of buns, biceps and bulging baskets. Lots of athletic types featured in the amazing artwork that captures a real sense of mid-century gay life. Athletes and bodybuilders, gym locker room romping, sailors seamen in briefs jockstraps at play throughout. The main audience of beefcake magazines was gay men. However, Beefcake magazines were designed to appear as fitness and health magazines rather than erotic magazines, because of censorship and homophobia.
