French producer and dj Too Smooth Christ, previously on Chinotto remixing Ana Helder, is back with two distinctive tracks: “Emodrones” leans electro broody and deep, with dynamic drum patterns and thick synths. Heady! The b-side “Herbs Have Grown (Quiet Version)” bathes you in reverb as its soaring melodies tug at your heartstrings. It’s the closest thing we’ve got to a song by a band on the label and we fucking love it.
A co-founder of Supergenius Records, Too Smooth Christ’s hefty discography includes releases on dozens of labels, including Nocta Numerica, PARTOUT, Mule Musiq, and Childhood Intelligence. Leaving Paris for a quieter corner of France has only enhanced the energy of his tracks. His stable of vintage machines in an old barn is the envy of every producer who sees it, offering him a palette to build electronic music of all moods.
Out digitally and on limited-edition orange vinyl marbled blue.
